daily driver
- Artix Linux, because at some point choosing an init system became a personality trait and there's no going back. I'm stuck with dinit forever
- Niri is the side chick I can't live without
- Foot as the terminal, zen as the browser, and not much else — most days
- Neovim + nvchad for anything text, which is most things
- Keepassxc, mpd + rmpc, lf, himalaya, zathura, stew, uv, tmux, aria2, and of course mpv
for building things
- Go, for anything that needs to actually work
- Cobra for CLIs, because reinventing flag parsing has never once been the fun part
- Caddy in front of everything, because I would like my TLS certificates to be someone else's problem
- Charm, ironically I hook up everything with those
- Python, rarely these few years
- Bun, it's the least shitty one
- Svelte, attempting to avoid js with more js yeah
the best tool is the one where the interesting bugs are in my code, not the framework's.
everything else
- a plain text editor and a folder of `.txt` files for this very blog — no CMS, no database, just files and a build step
- self-hosted where it's reasonable to self-host, hosted-by-someone-else where it very much is not
- makes a hella lot of software clones by stripping them down like whores
