A "now page" for software, more or less. Updated whenever something on this list stops being true, which is more often than I'd like to admit.
daily driver
- Artix Linux, because at some point choosing an init system became a personality trait and there's no going back
- a terminal, a browser, and not much else — most days
- neovim for anything text, which is most things
for building things
- Go, for anything that needs to actually work
- Cobra for CLIs, because reinventing flag parsing has never once been the fun part
- Caddy in front of everything, because I would like my TLS certificates to be someone else's problem
the best tool is the one where the interesting bugs are in my code, not the framework's.
everything else
- a plain text editor and a folder of `.txt` files for this very blog — no CMS, no database, just files and a build step
- self-hosted where it's reasonable to self-host, hosted-by-someone-else where it very much is not
This list will be wrong again soon. That's fine — it's a page about the present, not a promise about the future.
